Mentors
Mentoring a young person can be a great way to make a positive and direct impact on a young personā€™s future. We welcome mentors from range of backgrounds and experiences, that are able to spend a few hours a fortnight mentoring a young person.
GoGreen Gardening Assistants
If you are passionate about gardening and young people, why not get in touch with us about volunteering some time in the GoGreen garden? We are looking for someone who would be happy to put in a couple of hours a week to help maintain our garden space and support our young people alongside the project leave.

Friends of YES

The Friends of Yes is an exciting new opportunity for people who have previously engaged with YES, to stay in touch with us, represent us in the wider community and share their stories. This new community will be launched in August 2023 as part of our 35th anniversary celebrations.

Front of House and Admin
We are always looking for additional support with our admin, since this gives our core staff more time to focus on important project work and engaging directly with young people, as well as providing volunteers with valuable training opportunities. If youā€™re spreadsheet savvy, have a friendly face or a welcoming voice, you could be a great fit for our charity as part of the front of house team.

Donations and Fundraising

Unwanted Clothes and Toiletries

Donations aren’t always monetary. We provide a free “wardrobe” service for any young person that needs it, full of donated clothes, toiletries and sanitary products.

Whether they are street homeless, escaping an unhealthy relationship and starting afresh or currently transitioning and looking for gender-affirming clothes, our wardrobe is available for anybody that needs to use it.

If you are having a cleanout, we would be grateful to receive donations of clean clothing and unused toiletries.

Education

As a youth focused charity, schoolchildren, teachers and students are incredibly close to our cause. We offer easy and fun ways to get classrooms raising cash, such as non-uniform days, sponsored walks and quizzes.

We can provide additional resources to help with this.

Fundraising Ideas and Inspiration

If you want to do your bit to help YES with a Sponsored challenge, you could do a sponsored bike ride, dance off or even a sponsored silence! It shows that you are proactive and willing to go that extra mile (sometimes literally).Ā

Contact us at info@colchesteryes.org.uk and we can help you make it happen.

Events

If you are putting on an event and would like to use it as an opportunity to raise money for charity, feel free to get in touch to discuss how we can support you with that.
