Alistair Steps Down After 4 Successful Years as Chair

Alistair McGary has decided to move on from his position as Chair of Trustees, after four years of service with YES.

Alistair has overseen a period of major change with YES, including the rebranding of the charity,  development of a new CRM System and a brand new website.

At the AGM & board meeting on Tuesday Alistair McGarry informed the board and charity that he wishes to stand down within this financial year (31st March 2023). Alistair has been chairman for over 4 years and has led the change in the board, written the current 3-year business plan and has supported changes across the charity. Alistair will leave a positive legacy to the charity, and it should be recognised that his role like all board members is as a volunteer and his time will now be spent working with ECVYS and other youth-based charities.

CEO, Dr. David Sollis said “Alistair has supported me in my role, offered advice, challenged me on many occasions and pushed me and the charity to support more young people. He has always supported the charity around its Vision & Mission, and I have no doubt he will continue to raise our profile in his new roles.”

We thank Alistair for his fantastic contribution towards the charity and wish him the best of luck in future endeavours.

The position of Chair of Trustees is now open. Please see this page for further details.
