Friends of YES

The Friends of YES was formed as a way for supporters of the charity and former service users to come together as volunteers and fundraise on behalf of the charity.

I joined YES in 2021 as a volunteer, and focused mainly on helping to plan and run fundraising events. Working with YES sparked an interest in counselling and youth work for me, and I am now training to become a counsellor. I have had the opportunity to support various projects and roles within the charity, to help expand my knowledge and experience with the help and support of the counsellors and management here.

Natasha Wainaina works as a Junior Management Consultant with background in workforce transformation, cultural competence, and digital communications. She was appointed as a Trustee for Colchester and Tendring Youth Enquiry Services in September 2019 and is delighted to be a part of a charity that provides services that are needed to the youth in her hometown. Natasha started volunteering for women and youth organisations in 2013 when she was at the University of Lincoln which led her to do more in her community. She is passionate about making sure children and young adults feel that they are supported and cared for.

Philip Strangward is a qualified chartered accountant, formerly with Price Waterhouse in Zimbabwe where he grew up. Moved back to the UK in 1977 and after some time in commerce became a partner with Moores Rowland. More recently, a finance director (commercial property related businesses) and currently also practises as an independent accountant to local individuals and businesses.
